# Subflow: Update Subscription

#### **LFS version:** requires Limio for Salesforce v14.02 or later

Update Subscription lets an agent change the offer on an active subscription. It is a subflow of [Manage Subscriptions Flow](/salesforce/servicing-subscriptions/manage-subscriptions-flow.md) for orgs on Stripe. Orgs on Zuora get [Subflow: Manage Add-Ons](/salesforce/servicing-subscriptions/manage-subscriptions-flow/subflow-manage-add-ons.md) instead. See [Payment Providers](/salesforce/setting-up/detailed-salesforce-setup/payment-providers.md).

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Update your copy of the master flow after you upgrade.** Limio Manage Subscriptions is a template, so your org uses its own copy. A copy made before v14.02 opens Manage Add-Ons for every org. Add the payment provider check from the packaged flow to your copy, so that Stripe orgs open Update Subscription. In the packaged flow, the check follows the decision outcome **Is Manage Add-Ons**.
{% endhint %}

## When the action shows

Without a [Subscription Actions](/salesforce/setting-up/additional-config/subscription-actions-rules.md), Update Subscription shows for a subscription that is active and is not a gift. With a rule, add **Update Subscription** to the rule's **Actions List (Stripe)**.

## Screens

The flow has two screens.

**Main screen** holds these components:

* **Limio Current Subscription Info** — the subscription the agent selected.
* **Limio Subscription Change Items** — the items the agent can change.
* **Effective date picker** — the date the change takes effect.
* **Limio Change Summary** — the difference between the current subscription and the new one.
* **Schedules table** — the future payments after the change.

**Order summary screen** shows the order and submits it.

The agent must change the subscription before the flow continues to the summary.

## What the agent can change

In the packaged flow, the agent can change the offer, and the quantity on an offer that allows multibuy. Add-ons and discounts are hidden.

To change this, clone the flow and set these properties on the **Limio Subscription Change Items** component in your copy:

| Property | Packaged value | Effect of the packaged value |
| -------------------------------------------------- | -------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Hide Add Add-on Button                             | `true`         | Add-ons are hidden.                                             |
| Show discount / overridable price column | `false` | The discount column is hidden. |
| Allow quantity change regardless of offer multibuy | `false` | The quantity is editable only on an offer that allows multibuy. |

**Hide Add Add-on Button** is available from v14.02. The other two properties are available from v14.25.

{% hint style="info" %}
The quote version of this journey lets a CSR edit add-ons, quantities and prices. See [Update Quote](/salesforce/cpq/update-subscription-as-a-quote.md).
{% endhint %}

## Configure the offer table and the filters

To control the columns and the filters on this journey, create a record with the **Update** action on each of these objects:

| Object                              | Available from |
| ----------------------------------- | -------------- |
| Limio - Offers Catalog Table Config | v14.10         |
| Limio - Offers Filtering Rule       | v14.16         |
| Limio - Filters Configuration       | v14.16         |

See [Catalog Table Columns](/salesforce/setting-up/filtering-rules/customise-table-columns.md) and [Offers](/salesforce/setting-up/filtering-rules.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.limio.com/salesforce/servicing-subscriptions/manage-subscriptions-flow/subflow-update-subscription.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
